The Höhenweg leads through the forests and fields along the Rigi slopes and can be easily divided into stages thanks to regular bus and boat connections.

The leisurely hike leads from Weggis via Hügeri-Eggisbühel into the Herrenwald on the Hertenstein peninsula. For a cool refreshment we recommend a detour to the Haldihof.

Water Tower and Chapel Bridge in Lucerne
The symbol of Lucerne
The water tower was built just before the bridge and for a long time served as an archive, vault, interrogation (and torture) room and as a prison. Shortly thereafter, the Chapel Bridge was built, which takes its name from the neighboring St. Peters Chapel. With the beautiful picture panels depicting the scenes of the Swiss ) and the history of the city, it is the symbol of Lucerne.

For centuries, Swiss farmers served as mercenaries in foreign armies. The lion was carved into the natural rock to commemorate the heroic death of those who died in the Tuileries in 1792. The American writer Mark Twain elevated "the Lion of Lucerne to the saddest and most moving piece of stone in the world".
